Member ALERT || Updated APSCo Templates

In preparation for the upcoming introduction of the Right to Disconnect on Monday the 26th of August, the following relevant APSCo templates have been updated:

•    Employment contract template; and
•    Flex worker template.

These updated templates can now be used when employing any new hires. For existing employees, remember that you cannot mandate that they enter into new contracts and you will need their agreement to enter into the new form of the contracts.

Squire Patton Boggs recommends that, with current employees, you take the opportunity to roll out the new templates either on a promotion or increase in remuneration (which is usually done at salary review time when you can make the salary increase conditional on the employee entering into the new form of the contract).

For more information on the right to disconnect, please see SPB's recently published article here.

Thank you
