Landmark Prosecution for Psychosocial Hazards - Western Australia

The Western Australian Department of Justice has become the first employer in WA to be charged for failing to meet its obligations to manage employee psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
 
Squire Patton Boggs provides an interesting reflection on the increased regulatory focus on ensuring persons conducting a business or undertaking are satisfying their legal duty to manager potential risks to workers’ mental health, including meeting their duty to assess potential psychosocial risks that exist for their workers and ensuring appropriate measures to eliminate or mitigate such risks are implemented.
